School of Physical Science organized its activities in Physics Experiment Teaching Center, which was opened publicly for the first time. They prepared some interesting experiments related to our daily life, such as Rupert's tears, acoustic levitation, Plasma globe and Bernoulli suspension ball.

Rupert's tears were toughened glass beads created by dripping molten glass into cold water, which caused it to solidify into a tadpole-shaped droplet with a long, thin tail. Even the kids can participate in the process of making Rupert's tears and bring a drop of tear home.
A plasma globe was a clear glass sphere filled with a mixture of various noble gases. With a high voltage, inside the globe are moving tendrils of colored light extending from the center to the outer glass insulator. Students were really excited about this phenomenon and learn the principle behind with the help of volunteers.
Most of the experiments were quite understandable for primary and high school students and they were obsessed with them.
“The science festival is very meaningful for students no matter they are in primary school or high school. Physics comes from life and will finally goes back to life, so it is important to inspire students’ passion for physics from their younger age,” said WANG Zhongping, the associate professor from Physics Experiment Teaching Center.
