The opening ceremony of 2017 USTC autumn sports meeting was held on Friday, October 27 on the east campus of USTC.
Hundreds of faculty and student athletes from various schools witnessed this great ceremony .
Vice President CHEN Chusheng gave a speech at first on behalf of the presidium and committee of the sports games. He welcomed all athletes to the special event and expressed gratitude to teachers, students, judges as well as coaches. He highlighted that the sporting games will be a symbol for a booming USTC and wished the games be a great success and feast.
WEI Lianyi YANG Xudong then made vows on behalf of all athletes and judges to respect and follow the athlete spirit.
YE Xiangdong, deputy Party secretary of the USTC, declared the begining of the sports competition.
In response to the National Fitness Outline issued by the State Council in 1995, USTC has held sports games every year to strengthen the physical health of faculty and encourage student to develop sports skills and spirit. Hosted by sports committee of USTC and organized by the office of physical education, sports committee and party committee, the game is expected to attract many athletes and audiences.
